Waves of Change

So as I go through this semester, I consider many things around me.

☑ graduating senior

☑ work two jobs - love my jobs

☑ full time student

☑ financially independent 

☐ what am I doing to better the world around me

☐ what am I doing to better myself

So these last two have always bothered me however it was not until last year that it really started to get to me. I was born and raise in a small town, and I always had that feeling deep down inside of me that I needed to do something more, like more to California, ha. Well it wasn't until California and working in student housing that I came across Social Justice and people that on a daily basis try to fight for social justice. I began to take communication classes, watch TED talks, and you tube videos, read articles along with educate myself and those around me. To the point, that my friends now watch what they say and make fun of the things I stand up for, how is that fair? I fight for social justice, and then tables turn and I am being teased. Well after working on my persuasive speech for this COMS class, I know this passion is not going to go away, and I don't want it to. With the passion I have, I can make a difference in the world around me and even on a higher level with a degree in the field of marketing. I am now considering a masters degree in social justice and leadership, so that I can make myself and the world around me a better place.
